The Big Box model at a Petco store

There are 6 Petco stores in Orlando, for a total of more than 1300 in the USA.

Each store varies in size and format but on average they cover a surface of 600 sqm, with a wide coverage of brands and products, with a double focus on Made in USA products and OEM items made in China.


The 3 keywords : Natural, Organic, Holistic

There’s definitely a trend in western countries for “natural products”, and strong marketing efforts are put by many brands to emphasize the health benefits of their products.


Some of the stores propose Grooming facility and Veterinarian services (few hours a week)

 


The Aquarium Section represents approximately 15% of the surface of the store, mainly with freshwater fish.

Spectrum Brands (Tetra) gets most of the space, along with PetCo OEM brand.
