      International Pet Industry Summit 2012

       

           Despite the gloomy global economy, pet economy, being in rigid demand because of the emotions attached to pets, is still growing steadily. Asian pet markets, especially the Chinese market, witness substantial growth. With the improvement of people's living standards, the growing number of aged people and the changing attitude about pets all help promote the development of the pet industry in China. Over the past twenty years, China's pet market gradually developed from its infancy. It experienced frustration first but in the end thrived. The research reports published by international research agencies all pointed out that China's pet market, with its huge number of pets and fast growth of number of pet owners, will soon become the most promising pet market in the world. According to statistics, there are 40 million pet cats and dogs in China. And the number is still growing at 20%.
           As the attitude toward pet raising changes and pet goods consumption become more and more specific and humanized, the huge demand for pet food, commodities, medical care and other services in China will soon exceed that of Europe, which will make China one of the three largest pet economies in the world. Meanwhile, as the consumption concept of domestic market becomes more mature and the development of customer need grows fast. The domestic and foreign brands for pet products face more challenges and opportunities.
            In order to share and discuss the advanced industry experience and concepts from home and abroad and to increase the communication and exchanges between the pet industries, the 2nd International Pet Industry Summit will be held at the same time as the 15th Pet Fair Asia as a face-to-face communication platform for exchanging ideas.
